The Department of Food and Nutrition is celebrating its 10th year on Room Service Dining. It was the largest hospital to implement Room Service Dining in the Northeast house wide in 2003.
Prior to Room Service our customer service scores ranged in the 50th percentile and since implementation of Room Service we are consistently in the 90th percentile.
Currently Dining For All Seasons allows our patients to select from a restaurant style menu and choose “what they want, when they want it” from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and it will be delivered within 45 minutes.
The decision to go to Room Service was to enhance the patient experience while at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Patients look forward to their meals and this program gives them many selections and the freedom to eat when they want.

We provide food and medical nutrition therapy to all patient populations including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with all diagnoses.
The food service program provides meals for regular and modified diets, snacks, oral supplements and floor pantry stock. A complete enteral formulary is available to meet the therapeutic nutritional needs of patients.
Medical nutrition therapy is provided by qualified registered dietitians and/or dietetic technicians to include services of nutrition screening/assessment, reassessment and nutrition education.
Continuity of care will be assured through interdisciplinary care meetings, patient meal rounds, appropriate referrals and patient surveys.
Outpatient nutrition services are also provided by the outpatient dietitian for patients in the ambulatory clinics, community elementary schools and speaker bureau lectures.
